Biography
EMBOSCADA was formed in 2019 in Arica, a very small city located in northern Chile, by five musicians who wanted to create a Heavy Metal band with strong NWOBHM influences. The main idea was to take nuances from the heritage of the South American Heavy Metal movement, and they have done this until now. Arica had been absent from the traditional Heavy Metal scene for about 20 years. However, like every city in the world, there's a circle of Heavy Metal maniacs with so much to say and a strong desire to express their conception about this sound.

In their bio, Chile’s EMBOSCADA mention NWOBHM, and this is exactly what “Rencer” delivers. Fast tempos, high pitched vocals and a selection of riffs cut from the same cloth with those UK bands that carved a new path in the Metal scene driven by pure passion. After the instrumental intro, “Rompiendo El Silencio” explodes with fast paced guitars and a killer bass sound, which justifies early IRON MAIDEN as an influence. The vocal melodies bring to mind SATAN and a bit of DIAMOND HEAD, although the latter comes forth in the title track. “Buscando Escapar” is catchy one, with killer guitar melodies and lyrics in Spanish, something I believe works in favor of EMBOSCADA. I mean, NWOBHM sung in Spanish has a distinct character, right? Who would be interested in another copycat band? I hope they will never abandon the concept of writing lyrics in their native language.
