THE SKULL is the new band featuring vocalist Eric Wagner and bassist Ron Holzner, formerly of Metal legends TROUBLE, and the twin guitar tandem of Lothar Keller and Matt Goldsborough (ex-PENTAGRAM). THE SKULL, who released its debut album, "For Those Which Are Asleep", to roaring response this past fall, has welcomed new drummer Sean Saley - also formerly of PENTAGRAM - into the fold, replacing former stick man, and founding TROUBLE member, Jeff "Oly" Olson.
Now, THE SKULL announces U.S. tour dates in support of "For Those Which Are Asleep", including three live performances as part of the 2015 'SXSW Music Festival', set for March 17-22, in Austin, Texas. At the shows, THE SKULL will perform both songs from its debut and time-tested favorites from its canon of TROUBLE classics.
"We're looking forward to getting back on the road again and playing songs off our new record", comments Holzner. "Having Matt Goldsborough, and now Sean Saley, both formerly of PENTAGRAM, in THE SKULL, is truly special. Austin is always a great time, and playing 'SXSW' with this lineup of musicians is going to rock!"
"I am extremely psyched to be joining the band in time to carry out the live campaign to bring "For Those Which Are Asleep" to the masses", says Saley. "I'd like to thank Ron, Eric, Matt, and Lothar for making me feel welcome and appreciating what I can bring to THE SKULL. I'd also like to thank Oly for laying the solid foundation, that I can build on, and for being an iconic drummer I've respected for decades. Last, but not least, I am also amped-up to reunite with Matt Goldsborough, my former bandmate from PENTAGRAM, who is a great guitarist and a true rocker! More than any tour I've ever been part of, I'm looking forward to 'SXSW' and all the shows on this upcoming tour, as well as future tours and albums with THE SKULL. See you on the road. DOOM ON!"
