There was this post flashing by on Facebook, you know how annoying it can be when you see something but then the page is automatically updated and the post is gone. I managed to read Mike Tramp and Zeppelin Rock Bar at least and could track it back.

Yes, Mike Tramp was to celebrate the re-release of “Capricorn” with two intimate shows at Zeppelin Rock Bar, ticket requests here, first come first served... “Intimate” was a huge hint since the capacity of the venue is limited to 50 people. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong night as for the second night an additional hour was added to the set. It was full house of course but I was surprised that it was quite quiet to start with. Fantastic “Trust In Yourself”, which opened the whole thing, normally brings on some singing but people hadn't really gotten started at this point. It sounded very good though and Oliver Steffensen who was hired to create some ambience with his guitar did his job in a fantastic way.

That first one isn't from “Capricorn” of course. It was a very welcome feature though as it is a fantastic song and frankly, some mix-up in these theme-shows does everything good. “Better Off” is one of my favorites from “Capricorn” so I was glad that was featured in the set. “Here I Don't Belong” is good too and here, as in many other cases the live version struck me harder than the album one.

The same can be said about “Revolution” from “Cobblestone Street”, that song have passed me by completely. The nerve and emotion in the live-performance were just phenomenal and digging up the record after the show I can't for my life understand how this happened. This sure was one of the best moments of the evening. A funny thing happened though; Mike was as usual yapping away and started playing while still talking. When Steffen was to join in it all sounded quite weird. Steffen pointed out that Mike was playing in the wrong key, the capo-bar was in the wrong place on the neck of the guitar. It struck me that this might not be the first time it happens and I started speculating in if this is something THE BAND OF BROTHERS have to deal with or if it was just for this night... I've never noticed it before at least so if it has happened, that just makes those shows even more impressive.

The songs from “Capricorn” sounded great too of course. The mellow “Have You Ever” is yet another song that becomes even better live than on record. I really like Mike's voice, his ability to express emotions is fantastic and it really comes through in those more mellow tracks. Also “Already Gone” the album opener went down really well. One song I really was hoping to hear was “Bow And Obey” from “Nomad” and my hopes were raised really high after Mike had posted an acoustic version of it online a couple of weeks before this show. It showed up and sounded amazing. But I must say that “Wait Not For Me” clocked in at the same rate as “Bow And Obey”. It sure sounded good, even with the sparse instrumental setup. I mean, it was only Mike and Steffen with guitars and Mike spent most of the night talking on the side of the microphone, more like an ordinary conversation. That was something adding on to the intimate feeling. The fact that I still have hard to follow when he speaks in Danish annoys me a bit. I actually don't want him to change, I just need to learn.

In a way I think it was really cool that WHITE LION was completely left out of the set. On the other hand, learning that the second day has gotten some and seeing the clips on YouTube and how good it sounded nags me a bit. It was a very nice evening this, a good way to celebrate the re-release of the “Capricorn” album. It was a truly special show and I'm really happy I got to experience it.
