Before The Dawn - Deathstar Rising

How easy is to be a melodic Death Metal band nowadays without using influences from the glory of other Scandinavian leviathan schemes, such as AMORPHIS, SWALLOW THE SUN, BARREN EARTH and IN FLAMES? Listening to “Deathstar Rising”, the sixth studio album of the Finnish melodic Death metallers BEFORE THE DAWN, I guess the answer is quite difficult to be given.

Destruction - Day Of Reckoning

You can always count on DESTRUCTION no matter if it’s for a live performance or a record. This is a very stable outfit, you know what you are getting and it’s always high quality. Even what most people point out as their low point with “Cracked Brain” they’ve created some really decent music.

Evergrey - Glorious Collision

EVERGREY is a band that I had the fortune to discover with the second full length album “Solitude Dominance Tragedy”. The fact that Andy LaRocque was supporting the Swedish act was a must-check situation for me.

Visions Of Atlantis - Delta

VISIONS OF ATLANTIS is a symphonic Power Metal band from Austria. They alternate between female vocals and male vocals. Mostly they are done by Maxi Nil, the band’s newest member. She does a good job. The female vocalist spot has been pretty much a revolving door process, this being their third one since the formation of the band. I would like the album better if they used her and her alone.
