Terrordome - We’ll Show You Mosh, Bitch!

(CD, Defense Records, 2011)
It’s been a long time since I had listened to a band from Poland not playing Death or Black Metal. TERRORDOME have a fierce name and their music - even if not being too extreme - has the ability to raise some fear. To expand: the quartet from Cracow loves both Thrash and Crossover/HC so the result in their first full album (they’ve so far released one EP, one single and one split album with fellow Thrashcore maniacs LOSTBONE too) is nothing more or less than fast, furious and brutal Thrash with enough HC elements that will make your neck break if you like speedy moshing without tomorrow in your music.
The album clocks less than 30 minutes and you can clearly see the sources of inspiration for TERRORDOME from the very beginning. Short songs with nonstop drumming and riffing give place to groovy bridges and some chaos rising breaks that are executed surprisingly well by the band. Yes, it takes skills and nerve to be up to pace with this kind of music, you know, and the Polish outfit does a very good job here. The production also fits well here; it is clean and raw enough to both let dozes of energy being unleashed and keep a musical basis so as not to lose control. Once you let “We’ll Show You Mosh, Bitch!” play in your audio system, though, you’ll surely loose control to the velocity of the songs.
Need names to compare? Ok, let’s see: I recall names like S.O.D./M.O.D., D.R.I., NUCLEAR ASSAULT and a glimpse of aggressive SLAYER while listening to this relentless CD and the only band I could put next in line from the generation is (some of) America’s MUNICIPAL WASTE or (a little bit of) Greece’s SUICIDAL ANGELS. Hence, the music of TERRORDOME is not dark or evil or macabre but it surely is grind-oriented ideal for endless moshing and circle pits if you ever have the chance to see this band performing in your area. Was there something I did not like in this CD? Ok, it’s not original but I do not think this was the band’s intention too. So, let the music flow and allow TERRORDOME to take care of your rusty bones with their speed, riffing chaos and terminal rapidity.
P.S.: “Hang The Cop”? Haha, it’s ideal!
